Shabbat is the Jewish day of rest. It begins Friday evening and ends Saturday night. Most TBS services are on Friday nights at either 6 PM or 7:30 – be sure to check the timing each week.
Saturday morning we often celebrate a B’nai Mitzvah, when a student is called to the Torah for the first time. We have a traditional Shabbat morning service beginning at 10 AM.
Temple Beth Shalom is a diverse community and our services reflect that. We use melodies from across the Jewish spectrum, from Debbie Friendman to Hasidic niggunim (wordless songs). The prayer books, Mishkan Tefilah, are very accessible, with transliteration next to the Hebrew. The books also provide a variety of different translations and interpretations of the prayers, allowing people to find their own understanding of our ancient words.
We invite everyone to join us! There is no registration, just come on in and we will welcome you to our community!
