In these times of increased antisemitism, Rabbi Jessica will explain the roots of this hatred, how it has operated and changed over the centuries, and how it is present today.
Session 1: Roots – understanding how the rise of Christianity created the origins for anti-Judaism and how that played out in the first 1500 years of exile.
Session 2: Race vs. Religion – understand how the enlightenment challenged traditional anti-Judaism and the shift from a religious hatred to a racial one.
Session 3: Today – explore how Anti-Judaism never went away and how the Christian right and the anti-Israel left have reinflamed this age-old hatred.
