Temple Beth Shalom is a diverse community, and our services reflect that. Our music spans the full range of Jewish tradition — from the contemporary melodies of Debbie Friedman to the wordless, soulful niggunim of Hasidic tradition.
We pray from Mishkan T’filah, a prayer book chosen for its accessibility: Hebrew appears alongside transliteration, and multiple translations and interpretations sit side by side, so that everyone — no matter their background or level of Hebrew fluency — can find their own way into the words.
We love inviting guest musicians to join us for Shabbat. Mitch Gordan has been leading drumming shabbat for the past 6 years. Jacob’s Ladder and Ezekiel’s Wheels have also hosted both Friday evening shabbats as well as events for our students. Our choir also lends their voices throughout the year, though most notably during the High Holidays.
