Temple Beth Shalom is seeking a Part-Time Executive Director to be at the heart of a small, but dynamic community. At TBS, we foster a spirit of inclusivity and warmth, extending our definition of family to embrace all members, irrespective of age or background. We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our administrative team to help support our growing community. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the efficient functioning of our community and ensuring smooth administrative operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Office Management: Maintain a well-organized and welcoming synagogue office, and manage incoming calls, emails, and inquiries. Work with the Rabbi and General Council members to rewrite and organize current policies. Background set up and advertising for events.
  2. Calendar and Scheduling: Coordinate and manage schedules for religious services, events, and meetings. Ensure timely communication of schedule changes.
  3. Membership Support: Assist in maintaining membership records, processing new member applications, and addressing member inquiries.
  4. Communication: Coordinate with Rabbi about upcoming programs and communications on a weekly/monthly basis. Assist in editing the monthly bulletin, manage social media accounts, and assist in weekly email communication to keep members informed about synagogue activities including our religious school families and staff. Update the website as needed and communicate with leaders of the General Council or committees for updates. Be available to be online for Zoom events when needed.
  5. Facility Management: Coordinate custodian schedule, with maintenance staff to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of the synagogue facilities. Rental coordination to outside groups as well as open and close the building for outside events.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of Excel, Google Suite, WordPress skills, MailChimp, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with outside community partners, temple members, and volunteers to achieve common goals. Dependable and punctual, able to manage tasks independently.

Hours: This is a hybrid, part-time position requiring approximately 10-15 hours per week. The schedule may include occasional in-person evenings or weekends for special events. $30/hour

Benefits: 4-6 weeks off in the summer. 5 days of paid sick time
